A Quick Thought on the Lara Logan Assault: Feb 15, 2011

CBS reporter Lara Logan assaulted in Egypt
Feb 15 (Reuters) – CBS correspondent Lara Logan was beaten and sexually assaulted by a mob while covering the jubilation in Cairo’s Tahrir Square on the day Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak stepped down, the U.S. broadcasting network said on Tuesday. Logan, a 39-year-old South Africa native and longtime war correspondent, has since flown back to the United States and is recovering in hospital. She was one of dozens of journalists attacked during the three weeks of protests throughout Egypt.

So here is my tasteless question:
Did she seriously expect to be not manhandled in an environment with tens of thousands of young non-pussy whipped men and no law enforcement?
In Iraq, she was ‘embedded’ with US soldiers and things were under control. Did she really think that being around whipped soldiers is the same as standing in a crowd of young aggressive men?
Seriously?….
PS: Google about her “relationships” with Michael Ware and a few other people when covering the Middle-East. There is a bit more than the link suggests..

1) how badly was lara sexually assaulted? are we talking about fondling or kissing or outright intercourse (and copulation)? was she anally raped, too? i’ve been looking for details on the sexual assault everywhere, but the matter seems to be hushed up.

2) it’s not that widely reported, but a big reason that the egyptian revolution occurred is because egypt has a huge amount of sexually frustrated and probably virginal young men who are too poor to be able to afford wives. these same guys felt they had absolutely nothing to lose and took on the mubarak regime. their lives sucked too much already to fear even death.

there aren’t many details on the nature of her injuries. CBS is hiding behind “privacy” issues for Logan and her family. i’m assuming they hope that the media consuming public will imagine the worst type of sexual assault possible.
