Why did the Egyptian Revolution Lack Chaos?

Unasked Questions are often the most important ones. In the case of the recent Egyptian revolution, one of the very obvious but ignored question is-

Why did we not see or hear about large scale looting, chaos and general anarchy by the pro-democracy protesters?

Sure, they was some looting of ‘exclusive’ malls and stuff like that, but most of it was done by pro-mubarak hired goons. Why did the poor people just not run wild and steal, rape and plunder all they could? Some might ascribe this apparent restraint to the presence of the army, but it was largely concentrated in some areas of major cities and around important facilities. Large parts of Egyptian cities were without sufficient ‘law’ enforcement and guess what.. they did not fall into chaos.

I have a theory about the most important reason and will write a separate post about it. The gist of my theory is that cellphones (rapid, portable and reliable communication) has fundamentally changed the way people can organize.

Many aging and dying white morons still cannot conceive that ‘those’ non-white, “low IQ” people pulled off what they did. These morons are still trying to see and interpret recent events through their outdated and biased mental filters.

But does their opinion and world-view matter anymore?

The local people formed militia groups to protect local areas from oppurtunistic criminals and anarchic behaviour. I don’t think anyone will be willing to loot a shop when there’s the serious risk of being gatted by an AK-47.

This is one major cause. The people took to defend itself by itself.

        EXACTLY!
And it quickly dawned on them, that they weren´t up against defenders that would treat them with kid gloves.

When on the other hand, I think of all those single mom homes in the west.

        Free pussy come to mind.

Their opinions and worldview matter not at all, the new paradigm is being formulated and implemented in the now. Like it or not fellow travellers, it’s here, get used to it.

I have ageing and dying white friends who have been respectful and curious about Egyptians and Arabs, Turks, Persinas etc for their entire adult intellectual lives, who never regarded “them” as low IQ by any stretch of the imagination. Growing up white and suburban myself, the Mideast represented something fascinating with great civilizations to boast of, and a very tragic modern history involving unfortunate Western meddling.

Having said this, I have also known “non-White” individuals, young and old, to say the most idiotic things about many cultures, Mideast, Western, Eastern, Nothern, Southern, you name it…

In other words, no need for the racism against whites, old or otherwise. Not only is there the example I’ve stated above of those whom I know who are sincerely interested in the Mideast and its people, but keep in mind that some of the very best scholarship in the world on “non-white” cultures around the world, Egyptian or otherwise, has come from those ageing white students of history. And us young ones as well
