I am posing an important, and somewhat rhetorical, question.
Knowing what we now know about the effect of dietary carbohydrate intake on insulin resistance, why do credentialed “experts” continue to push grain-based diets- in their many incarnations?
Look, I am not suggesting that we should avoid all forms of grains and carbohydrates. But does it not make sense to reduce carbohydrate intake the person is fat, has measurable insulin resistance or is developing diseases linked to insulin resistance?
Why is upholding dogma so much more important than observable reality? Why conduct fraudulent research to bolster the “carbs-are-good” dogma? Why ignore basic biochemistry? Why make recommendations about diets that are almost guaranteed to hurt people?
In the past, credentialed “experts” treated every disease by bleeding and purging already sick patients, often killing people who would have otherwise recovered. They also did not believe that micro-organisms caused infectious diseases, and vociferously opposed all measures based on that concept.
Have we not learnt anything from such disasters?
