LOL: May 25, 2011

NASA recently announced that they “plan” to replace the aging space shuttle fleet with something called the Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle. A quick look at the design reminded me of something from the 1960s- the Apollo Command/Service Module. The Apollo CSM, in contrast to the proposed MPCW was built, and successfully flown, in the 1960s.

Does this mean that NASA is admitting that the whole Space Shuttle program was a dismal failure? Because if it wasn’t, why are we going back to the 1960s?

You can find more info about that proposal here- About the Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle (MPCV)

This is simply the technological “pinnacle” that can be achieved with the dead-end-street that is chemical rocket propulsion.

And agreed, very ridiculous for half a century of “space travel”.

The real space tech is found in the black-ops programs. Everybody is aware of that. Or at least firmly suspects it (or fucking should be!).
