While I have serious doubts that he acted alone, it appears that the main suspect in the recent bombings and shooting in Norway is white CONservative guy- Anders Behring Breivik
His Twitter account has the same profile photo and one tweet, dated July 17: “One person with a belief is equal to the force of 100000 who have only interests.” He ran a business growing vegetables since 2009, and I would not be surprised if he diverted ammonium nitrate from that into his “personal interests”.
Here is a picture, from a news/rescue helicopter, of his activities on the island of Utoya. I have a feeling that such pictures and videos are not going to help his public image or legacy. The reasoning behind him killing 14-19 year olds unrelated to him or any of his personal adversaries is unclear.
While we can all speculate about the reason he snapped, I have a feeling that issues with women might have precipitated them. What do you think?
I am sure that at least a few of you have heard about the bombings in Oslo and the shootings at a youth Camp in Norway. While many seem to believe that it is Islamic terrorism related, I have my doubts.
Here is why-
The attackers did not go after commercial targets, touristy places, nightclubs, public transit or any other more typical targets. Does that not strike you as odd? If they just wanted to kill the maximum number of people in a spectacular manner, they could have done so much more easily and on a far larger scale.
They certainly did not lack explosives or weapons to kill many more.
2. Both categories of targets were linked to ruling Labour Party (Norway).
Islamic terrorists are not known for caring about party affiliations of the ‘infidels’ they kill. Domestic groups, on the other hand, are much more likely to worry about such factors. Why go after people of a very specific political affiliation?
3. The killings at the summer camp on the island are suggestive of people who could blend in the population.
Given that middle-eastern guys look somewhat different from you average Norwegian, the fact that the killer/killers could get on the island with police uniforms and blend in till they started shooting suggests that they were indigenous. Now you can certainly have a few converts to another religion, however the issues mentioned in 1. and 2. make that unlikely.
In my opinion, given the scale of the attacks and coordination it was closer to a coup rather than a classical terrorist attack.
