Birth Control Destroyed CONservatism

Update: I am making this older post sticky for a day, or two, because it can be seen as the introduction for a much longer article that I am currently working on.

Yes, you heard that right. Development and availability of effective birth control is the single biggest factor behind the decline of CONservatism.

To understand the reason behind this connection, it is important to realize that all CONservative models of the world are pyramid schemes. Such schemes require few older and richer winners and many young and naive losers.

In the era before effective birth control, CONservatives had an unending supply of young and naive people to play against each other. Whether that took the form of wars, horrendous working conditions or other assorted abuse- CONservatives could do that because each women had many kids and even though almost half died before reaching adulthood, it was common for a woman to have 5-6 kids survive into adulthood and go on to have kids of their own.

The result was that the world was full of young and naive suckers who could be manipulated by those with power and replaced by other suckers if they did not cooperate.

However cheap and effective birth control along with modern medicine and industrialization changed that such that the most women started having 2-4 kids.. and then 1 or 2. This has drastically reduced the percentage and number of young naive suckers for the CONservatives to play against each other. Birth control has fatally undermined the population pyramid necessary for CONservative scumbags and ideologies to prosper.

Some of you might wonder if outsourcing could allow CONservatives to go back to the old ways. I think not, because the people in India, China etc do not yet have the ability or willingness to buy enough products and services to keep the gig going. Production without consumption is meaningless and unprofitable. Did I mention that ubiquitous internet connectivity, cellphones etc have also changed the information landscape and therefore the decision matrix.

Less humans means each human has a better quality of life?

Is your quality of life better or worse than your grandparents- when there were far fewer people around?

Anyways, you write this post while before you seemed happy that soldiers died even though they were “CONservative pawns.”

I have no empathy for CONservatives.

Then you write how much you enjoy human suffering. It seemed like you had a serious mancrush on Brevik even though he would’ve loved to have killed a brown skinned guy such as yourself who loves casual sex….

Reproductive rights, I suppose you are a feminist now….

Well, either you just like inflaming people or you are a chaos theory experiment because I see no consistency here….

Oh, yeah, CONsistency, I guess that’s the manosphere way 😉

Because where you see contradictions, I see none.

I do not believe in any ideology because they are all imperfect and solipsistic models of reality.

Hadn’t considered that at all before. How thought provoking and true.

    AD,

By comparison with other countries, it appears that decline of conservatism has to do with persons changing mentality and following new ideas rather than with natural effects.

Let me give you the reasons:
1] Birth control and modern medicine exist in other countries (Iran, Saudi Arabia, India, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia), yet conservative type mentality still exists because people there haven’t changed their minds.

It takes about a generation and half.

2] What about Brazil? Are they more conservative or less conservative? They don’t look very conservative to me.

Brazilians are zero-sum racists, not CONservatives- and even 30 years ago, their fertility rates were much higher.

3] Birth control and modern medicine might have reduced the number of children per family, but population in the USA now is higher than in 1950. So conservatives still have a good number of suckers to manipulate.

Not quite, relative ratios matter far more than numbers.

It all has to do with mentality change which is more like fashion. Liberals of today are the conservatives of tomorrow. Do royalists still exist in France?

Add to this that sexual liberation already started in Russia in 1917. Birth control and modern medicine had nothing to do with this one.

In other terms, you can built a new ideology, follow it, and give irrelevant reasons to support it.

Change itself can make a person happy.

It takes about a generation and half.

However, during the 60s and 70s, people in Egypt, Morocco, Iran and similar places were less conservative than now.

Not quite, relative ratios matter far more than numbers.

Sure. But conservatives are more likely to have more children. While the others are more likely to have less or no children simply because they are not conservatives.

In addition, I’m still questioning whether modern medicine had a real effect on reducing the number of children. In a previous era, many children used to die, but dead children don’t cause a bigger number of children per family. Having lots of children was one solution to early death, but they could all die from the flu. The problem of early death was resolved through early marriage. But again, early marriage is the natural thing.

Even birth control does not need to lead to lower number of children, simply because no one is forcing those who want kids not to have kids.

Having kids is a matter of choice. Everbody knows that sex leads to kids, so those who are having sex are conscious of what they are doing. When a husband fucks his wife, he knows what this will lead to, so the fact that he uses birth control means that he doesn’t want kid. In a previous era, this would have been unwanted pregnancy.

Anyway, from my experience in the Middle East, I know that those who are having less or no kids are doing this for two reasons:
1] ideological reasons like Marxism, feminism, hedonism, atheism etc.
2] they want to spend their money on themselves rather than spend it on their kids.

The apparent liberalism in the Arab world during the 1940-1970s was superficial and imitative. It was not endogenous.

CONservatives having more kids is immaterial at this stage in history. The socio-economic circumstances which allowed the more CONservative to dominate is gone.

The apparent liberalism in the Arab world during the 1940-1970s was superficial and imitative. It was not endogenous.

Endogenous, exogenous, genuine or artificial, it doesn’t matter. The attitute, be it conservative or liberal, is all based on ideology and dominant trends. The difference between the West and Islamic countries is that in the West the new ideologies became the sole ideologies to the extent that whole new generations were born into the new ideology.
There is a great difference between not discriminating against foreigners based on logic not on ideology and not discriminating against foreigners on some multiculturalist ideology.

CONservatives having more kids is immaterial at this stage in history.

But Liberals have no kids, they are a dead species (now, not in the future) because their ideology leads them to their own death.

The socio-economic circumstances which allowed the more CONservative to dominate is gone.

Who will be dominating? The way things are going, you expect a Hitler-like figure to dominate, and Hitler is no liberal. Will the email and iphone stop a Hitler-like person from reaching the top? Maybe. If not, is there anybody prepared to stand against such a person?

Anyway, you should define conservative in a separate post, because lots of people are getting confused about what you mean.

In those areas where conservative families prefer boys over girls, the widespread availability of birth control, sonograms, and abortion have wreaked havoc on gender ratios. As a result, there are not enough girls for all those boys when they want to get married. The more flexible countries, such as Korea and Japan, will abandon their preference for boys, and start clamoring for girls. More culturally conservative countries, like India, will find a rise in kidnapping of young women from villages. They will hold onto their foolish ideas, even when it is clear they should give them up.

Japan and South Korea have already begun embracing the single daughter breeding pattern. The east Asian war of 2025 is going to be hilarious (as in Lulz, not in actual humour.)

We could formulate this as: the proportion of young suckers to established patriarchs is less favorable than it used to be. Additionally, increased access to alternate sources of information has made suckers harder to suck wood.

The Vietnam war, I think, was a turning point. No one in charge was prepared for the way public access to images and footage of the war would influence people who had always before been content to allow their kids to get conscripted into various conflicts, no matter how crassly motivated or pointless.
    Then eventually came the internet….

People, especially young men are now better equipped to act in their best interest than they were in previous generations.

And the disintegration of the traditional family, geographically mobile lifestyle, combined with the rapid growth of online communities prevent face to face social pressure being quite the matter of life and death it once was.

An 18 year old isn’t going to be as willing any more to throw his life away to impress Ma, Pa and his high school sweetheart.

The schooling system is still a huge source of indoctrination, but even so, its influence is weakening.

You make insightful observations, Provocatus Angeli, though your regular commenters have done a lot to refine, critique, and develop your rough ideas.

Actually, the way you put it really makes our whole society seem a lot like the Mormon Polygamists. The patriarchs induct only a few young men to be successors.
The rest are ‘lost boys’ kicked out and thrown away like garbage into our society. They’re completely disposable, a waste product as far as the patriarchs are concerned.
Funny how we’re really not so different from them.

I do have to give you a lot of credit for isolating important patterns that the rest of the population is blinded to. You’ve got a way of thinking that enables you to ignore the meaningless noise that most people are caught up in.

And that’s probably why people keep coming back here despite the gratuitous porn links, the 80s music videos, the odes to spankitude, and the self-pitying diatribes.
What’s more: you don’t inspire confidence that you would act any differently if placed in power than the ‘sociopaths’ you love to condemn. Actually, you seem to envy them!

    Regardless,
    Keep up the thought-provoking analysis!

Not that I disagree with your assessment, but I do have a question: How does this idea of a post-sexual revolution (widely available birth control and abortion) decline of CONservatism gel with the ‘idiocracy’ model of the best and the brightest breeding less whilst the more ignorant and poorest breed more indiscriminately and in far greater numbers?
