Could Oprah Winfrey Win Against Donald Trump in 2020 Election: 1

By now, everyone on the internet must have read about rumors that the famous talk-show host and billionaire, Oprah Winfrey, is considering a run for the presidency in 2020. The public and media reaction thus far be divided into broad categories. Some see it as a bad idea and yet another sign at continued american decline into becoming an internationally irrelevant country. Others see it a good thing and believe she has a high chance of success. Here is my take on it..

1] First, let us start by looking at a list of democrats who might run for the party presidential ticket in 2020. With the notable exception of Bernie Sanders, other democratic candidates are simply incapable of inspiring enough non-voters and independents to go out and vote for them on election day. Even worse, many supposed rising “stars” such as Corey Booker, Joe Biden, Deval Patrick, Kamala Harris, Martin O’Malley, Kirsten Gillibrand etc are neoliberal clones who simply do not have the appeal such candidates used to have in the pre-2008 era.

In other words, with the exception of Bernie Sanders the democratic party simply does not have a possible 2020 presidential candidate who can inspire non-partisan voters to vote for him or her. As we saw in the 2016 election, the ability to inspire your own voters to come out and vote for you made all the difference between victory and defeat. Furthermore, the almost certain lack of improvement in condition for most people between now the 2020 election makes it highly likely that candidates who try to run as the harbingers of the old status quo will not win that election.

2] The democratic party’s pathetic and sad obsession with Trump’s alleged “collusion with Putin” and his mental health is unlikely to make any difference in the end. As I have said in previous posts, the obsession of establishment democrats and corporate media with the “russia collusion story” is increasingly seen by average people as signs of their desperation and frustration, rather than evidence of any real crime. I mean.. if democrats they had evidence for anything close to what they claim, Trump would have been impeached or jailed by now.

Most people outside of partisan democratic voters see all investigations into, and leaks about, “Trump-Russia” and “Trump-Putin” connections as little more than an attempt at witch-hunting by deep-state and establishment types. Most relevantly for 2020, almost a year of investigations and leaks have not improved the ratings of the democratic party and its electoral candidates beyond a level of statistical significance. Remember that the vaguely centrist democratic candidate for the recent Alabama senate election won by less than 2% even though the republican candidate was an alleged child molester and batshit crazy.

3] The election of Trump in 2016 has made every public figure of some fame and wealth start considering a run for some sort of electoral office. Why bribe.. I mean ‘lobby’ elected officials when you can just become one and pass laws and rules to benefit yourself? That is why people such as the rich aspie known as Mark Zuckerberg have demonstrated interest in running for public office- in his case, by pretending to act like a human being. And he is not alone. More than a few famous actors, rich public loudmouths and other assorted insufferables will seriously consider running for the 2020 democratic ticket, a seat in the house or governorship.

But why is this happening now? Why did it not occur in the past? Well.. the short answer is that most people have lost faith in experts or professionals, largely because they have been exposed as posturing incompetents and two-faced liars. In the case of democratic party, the two presidential terms of Obama were nothing more than an 8-year long neoliberal disaster for the 99%. That is why the democrats lost so many governorships and seats in state legislatures to republicans during that period. To put it another way, trying to win elections by invoking your ivy-league education, credentials or soaring rhetoric is no longer a viable strategy outside a few coastal states.

But what does any of this have to do with Oprah’s chances of winning as a democratic party candidate in 2020? What makes her more or less likely to win against Trump or any other republican candidate than your generic establishment democratic politician.

4] Oprah, in my opinion, is a far better presidential candidate for democrats than their stable of generic neoliberal types for the following reasons. a] She has massive name recognition and is seen as a political outsider, both of which helped Trump win the presidency in 2016. b] Having a connection with the democratic party but no strong positions on most major issues allows her to craft her positions on them in ways that are not possible for most other democratic candidates, and that again is similar to what helped Trump in 2016. c] She has very good media presence and the ability to play the media far better than so-called “professional” politicians, which is once again like Trump in 2016. d] She is a far smarter self-promoter and has a much better grasp of audience dynamics than “professional” politicians and Trump.

Now that I have told you how Oprah is like Trump, let me tell you about areas in which she is much better than him- starting with her life story. Unlike Trump, she can make the claim that she her success and wealth came from her own abilities, rather than inherited wealth. Also, she does not appear to have career-ending skeletons in her closet of the kind which might sink her presidential campaign. Furthermore, it would be very hard to successfully level personal criticism at her because she is a woman and black, both of which matter far more now and in 2020 than they did a decade or two ago. Now combine this with a way of disgust and dismay among democratic voters and independents towards Trump and republican politicians by 2020, and it is easy to see why somebody like Oprah could win a presidential election against Trump, or pretty much any establishment republican candidate, in 2020.

Will write the next part of this short series based on further developments in this area and reader comments to this post.

What do you think? Comments?

Mildly ironic you left this on my blog as part of a comment a few days back:

“Most human beings are unwilling to think objectively or critically..”

Oprah was a huge proponent of “The Secret.” A book just as fishy as “game.”

She also loves guys like Tony Robins who is associated with the Syndicate, a group that pedals a bunch of MLM scams…

    https://omegavirginrevolt.wordpress.com/the-syndicate-the-internet-marketing-scam-organization-behind-game/

She is associated with fraud docs like Dr.Oz…

    Now contrast with Trump…

    The similarities are great….

    Just look at Alex Jones….

Huge Trump fanatic, conspiracy theorist and boner pill salesman….

Mike Cerno and all those Trumkin manuresphere guys, well they love the fake it to make it con-artistry along the lines of “The Secret.”

    This is really funny…

I know.. My point is that Oprah is a far better con-artist than Trump and she could beat him or any of those other republican amateurs in a general election. Now what does this say about the ‘wisdom’ of the american electorate? Well.. I think we all know the answer to that question. To be fair, it is not a real choice.

    1) I think if Oprah runs, Oprah wins. Name appeal, women’s vote, feminist male vote, novelty of first woman, etc. And she is a matter manipulator. I don’t mean that as a slight. She manipulates people for a living, just like all in entertainment and media.
    2) You don’t mention Lizzy Warren, who I expect to be the front runner for the Dems. Left of Mao, but has the same appeal as Sanders to those who are easily swayed. I think the establishment Dems would prefer her to a celeb, but who knows. I don’t think she wins against Trump, but who knows how things will change in 2 yrs. If China causes the dollar to tumble, and/or the economy tanks, we’re in for a change at the top regardless.

At this time. I predict that Oprah has a snow balls chance in hell of winning the presidency. Unless the public is even stupider than they appear, here is why I predict this.

First, Oprah has built her entire persona and business on schadenfreude feminine indignation and frivolous intrigue. These are things most women seem to be addicted to on some level for entertainment but not necessarily things they expect from a leader. For this reason, I doubt she will receive as many female votes as Clinton did.

Second, the persona and business model explained above is all Oprah knows. All she knows how to do is exploit the mostly female need for soap opera social intrigue. She cannot sell herself by convincing people that she can actually lead, negotiate difficult political issues with formidable opponents or provide real solutions to problems. Her entire modus operand is based on exploiting social problems so she can exploit other peoples emotional consequences for her own personal gain. Although this is entertaining to some, it is not what most expect from any leader. It would be like Heraldo Rivera running for president…laughable. Although the culture is quite rotten, the presidency is still seen as primarily a leadership position that requires negotiating skills beyond exploitation of the mediocre.

Third, she can expect zero white male votes no matter how stupid except from maybe a few abject sissy’s and homosexuals. Hispanic males will not be inclined to vote for her. Many white males who don’t normally vote will damn well go to the polls this time just to keep her “va-j-j” out of the office. Maybe not a majority but a significant number of females will also.

Fourth, although she may not have “skeletons in her closet”, she does have a mouth that has gotten her into political / social hot water more than once and the recordings will be used against her relentlessly. Here is one example https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HO89J6ouwgE. Both men and women are far more accepting of Trumps “pussy grabbing comment” which was privately expressed than Oprahs public blathering about her “va-j-j painin”.

Fifth, she has a very nasty reputation among people who have worked for her as she has slighted many and they may come out of the woodwork against her.

Sixth, Trumps election was not only a referendum against the political left it was also a referendum against the social left of which Oprah is a quintessential representative.

Barack Obama won in 2008 and 2012.

The biggest issue that I can see with Oprah is that she’d be an even bigger cipher than Obama circa 2008. Other than a vague sense that she’s some sort of Democrat, the public really doesn’t have much of an idea of what she stands for. And while yes this does serve as an advantage (see Obama, Barack), it also is going to raise suspicions among a lot of people to see someone who’s been praised by Bill Kristol (https://twitter.com/BillKristol/status/950399941721100288) and Grover Norquist (https://twitter.com/GroverNorquist/status/950477962029264897) running as a Dem.

Additionally, I’d be utterly shocked if Oprah tries to out-Bernie Bernie or whoever his successor is in 2020, meaning she’ll probably run as some sort of a neoliberal. Which puts her in conflict with the half dozen or so other neoliberals running for President (i.e. Booker, Harris, Gillibrand, etc.). So who knows, maybe the best case is that the neoliberals get a circular firing squad going and by the end of it the Bernie candidate (Bernie or a successor) wins it outright or at least goes into the convention with by far more delegates than anyone else.

Oprah has no principals, she “stands” for nothing. She is purely an opportunist. People do not know what she stands for, precisely because she doesn’t “stand” for anything. She simply capitalizes on an almost complete and universal feminine innate compulsion to emotionally experience indignation and engage in gossipy frivolous social intrigue. Her entire MO is solidly founded upon this phenomena as she cunningly and seductively beguiles a perception of social issues only to exploit masses of women playing upon their innate desire for feminine emotional self indulgence. She is the queen of “reality” soap opera – Soap Oprah. This is blatantly self evident as it sells extremely well in our western society because women have been relieved of responsibility and released to indulge feminine whims, unabated, due to the figurative but very effective almost compete castration of the western male, as government has replaced “daddy” and the practice of fetal homocide via birth control and abortion exponitionally eclipses human birth rates, facilitating mass feminine exodus from maternalism and wifedom. This is all the logical consequence of the experimental but futile imposition of monogamy and democracy on natural human innate instinct.

“wifedom” fuck you, wives are the mo0st unfuckable and the fastest aging women on the goddam planet,to make a woman a wife you have to doom so poor bastard to become her slave husband, fuck your stupid nuclear family, any man that defend that shitty arrangement is a mental defect.

      • January 12, 2018 at 4:39 pm

I’m not defending it asstard. Read the last sentence of what I wrote. Monogamy i.e. marriage is unrealistic, impossible so is democracy. Marriage is bullshit and unnatural. What species in the natural world including human nature requires a legal contract or “certificate” to copulate and reproduce? None.

Your instantaneous ass-sumption, and I emphasize the ass specifically for you is based on your hyper sensitivity to just the mention of wifedom. Are you so intolerant of masculine dominance or incapable of controlling a woman that you run away from the very idea in any context? What about men who have sired many progeny with multiple wives and literally owned wives and harems, do,you say “fuck you” to that? In another time and place I would have you castrated, your tongue cut out and make you my a slave?

“Barack Obama won in 2008 and 2012”

But, does that mean that Oprah will Win in 2020? Does it even have any bearing on an Oprah candadicy and if so specifically related to what? Skin color?

Obama was far more presentable, believable, a superior speaker and more “presidential” than either Oprah or Trump could ever be. Many don’t agree with his ideologies (I do not), nevertheless, he was very effective as a politition and leader. Oprah has much work to do in this realm if she is to be taken seriously. So far, she has nothing but a record of silly feminine b.s. Trump at least was able to convince enough people that he is an effective negotiator, although it is doubtful that he really is as his track record is far more representative of a Machiavellian, narcissistic bigoted con man. What does Oprah have to go on other than the fact that she has built a business empire around staged gossip mostly about people’s sex lives, bickering and frivolity?

If we suppose her chances of winning are increased by Trumps inevitable failures stimulating a pendulum swing back to the left, we may be correct. The neoliberals are likely to promote the hell out of her if they think she has a chance, even if that thought of a chance is only their delusion. But then we must also consider the fact that Trumps election was largely due to Obama’s perceived “failures”. Would the country elect Oprah as the new neoliberal poster child just because of Trump? Likely not. The country is mostly fed up with the status quo. That is why this blog and many others are read. A prediction at this time based on any of these premise is dicey. Personally, I think Trump is just another member of the club and I hope enough people of all stripes will get riled up enough to start a real revolution, not just a rhetorical one.

Please consider that Tulsi Gabbard seems to have all the attributes necessary to beat neoliberals: Charisma, military experience, Sanders-type views, semi-minority status, unflappable intelligence, and attractiveness.

If establishment democrats let her run..
