Thoughts on ‘Incels’ and Alleged Public Reactions Towards Them: 4

In the previous post of this series, I made a point that the aftermath of WW1 created a lot of socio-economic instability in Europe which resulted in leaders like Lenin, Mussolini and Hitler (in addition to many other similar less famous ones) assuming power. But have you ever wondered how these men came to power in the first place? I mean.. who supported these leaders anyway? And what does any of this have to do with ‘incels’ in 2018?

As it turns out, a lot. To understand what I talking about, we have to first talk a bit about why WW1 (and WW2) were so different from any wars before them- not just in sheer scale but also their timing and impact on society. The ‘timing’ aspect of both WW1 and WW2 is often glossed over by most historians because the subject matter does not sell as many books or lectures as military descriptions of those wars. So why is their timing important anyway?

Well.. for starters, the era from 1880-1910 was marked by a very significant change in kind of jobs and livelihoods available to most men in European countries. While the industrial revolution might have begun decades earlier, it was not until the 1880s-1890s that it started to change the spectrum of jobs available to most men in those countries. We often forget that majority of ‘jobs’ in those countries were related to agriculture, as late as the 1870s- even in western Europe.

But what effect did this have on those affected by this transition? Some of you know part of the answer, which is birth of the modern labor movement. The other part is however less talked about. The short version is that the change of ‘jobs’ and livelihoods from farm to city resulted in a lot of social dislocation and growth of instability. A rapid increase in number of non-agricultural jobs during that era did however keep a lid on that problem, at least for the time being. And then WW1 started in 1914.

As many of you know, WW1 was the really the first large-scale war in which every major participant nation-state mobilized its citizenry and ended up instituting military conscription. By the end of that war, millions of soldiers on all sides had died or were permanently disabled. But even more problematically, many millions more came back to countries, societies and livelihoods which had ceased to exist. To put it another way, soldiers who returned ‘home’ after WW1 came back to communities and livelihoods which had changed beyond their ability to adapt.

It did not help that post-WW1 austerity type economic measures in many countries and the increased mechanization of work created tons of young and poor men without any real prospects for a better future. Now combine this with the visceral contempt many felt for all those old-fashioned regimes and social structures who were responsible for WW1. It does not take a genius to figure out that the massive young male precariat created by WW1 looked around for new leaders who could promise them a better future.

And this brings us why the October Revolution in 1917 allowed the Bolsheviks to displace the provincial government and all moderates. As you might have figured out by now, the Bolsheviks had far more wiling young men and weapons than their opponents. The sheer number of willing young men and weapons was also why the Bolsheviks won the almost 5-year long Russian Civil War in 1922. And yes, the civil war did resulted in the death of a few million people- but in the end the Bolsheviks won, Lenin assumed formal leadership and USSR was formed in 1923.

Let us now talk about how Mussolini came to power in Italy in 1922. For somebody who literally created the concept of Fascism, it is interesting that Mussolini started out as a socialist. While the many twists in his life until the end of WW1 are too numerous to document here, the relevant part is that he became a well-known populist leader towards end of WW1. It certainly helped that the previous government and system in Italy had lost public support because of its many failures during WW1, even though they came out on the “winning” side.

Long story short, Mussolini correctly assessed the extent of public dissatisfaction with the existing system and took steps to gain power culminating in the March on Rome in 1922. And yes, the core supporters who stood behind him and helped him seize power were young men who had come back ‘home’ after fighting in WW1. As you will see, young men who fought in WW1 and came back to a displaced existence without a decent future somehow always ended up supporting a leader (almost always an outsider) who would promise them a better future.

Which brings us to the issue of how Hitler came to power in Germany. As some of you know, post-WW1 Germany was a hot mess. For one, terms of the Treaty of Versailles had caused a series of massive economic problems in Germany. The lack of perceived public authority and impotence of successive governments in the Wiemar republic combined with their inability to do help all those young men who returned ‘home’ after WW1 had created a huge population of young men who wanted to overthrow the current system.

Again, to make a long story short, the absolutely dismal reputation of the Wiemar republic along with the massive economic stresses caused by the great depression made a person like Hitler look like a reasonable option to the German public in 1933. Of course, the core and most loyal supporters of Hitler came from the ranks of soldiers who had fought in WW1. It is therefore no surprise that all the organisations which enabled Hitler’s rise to power in 1933, such as the Sturmabteilung, Nazi Party, Schutzstaffel and their precursors such as the Freikorps, were almost exclusively made up of young veterans of WW1.

Will write more about how all this relates to the current status quo in the next part of this series. Here is a hint.. history may not repeat, but if often rhymes.

What do you think? Comments?

I will throw a wrench in where I think you may be going with this. Most “incels” seem to be high status ala po’ ‘lil Elliot and his slimy Beemer. Also that Vegas shooter dude was a high net worth guy (even if he did have looming money problems.) You even mentioned that that Minassian dude should have been able to get with prostitutes. And if you look at any “mens spaces” it’s always libertarian tough guys shitting all over men of lowwer status and telling them their problems aren’t real.

I am talking about the majority of incels, not the few outliers.

You forgot to mention the Roofer, and “Sherlock” Holmes.
No high status there, but romantic disappointment and/or betrayal.

But while we’re at it, people forget Laurie Dann and “brilliant” “Indian” Nichole Nelson …

of course, when a woman does it … “she has to be understood” but
when a man does it … “he’s a devil in human form” …

      • May 22, 2018 at 7:34 pm

as far as Holmes, wasn’t he studying to be a doctor? and didn’t AD in his narcissistic way suggest that he followed this very blog on advice to bang hookers? Roofers might fit the low status theory very well though…

Vegas shooter dude wasn’t an incel. He had an Asian girlfriend.

Vegas guy was probably ISIS or maybe a Left winger killing for political reasons.

Yessir, you are right about that. Where does Andy Brewski, er Anders Breivik fit into this (if he does…)

A crucial enabling factor of WW1 was the advent of the railway. It made it possible to organize the logistics for the millions of war dead in the trenches.
The next social revolution (with an implosion in the ability to roll over debts and subsequent debt deflation, service sector and gig jobs will evaporate, unemployment will spike, etc etc) will likely see internet and the surveillance/propaganda state shape events in ways that are hard to foresee.

It was much more than railways..

D.L. Hughley just said on the radio today that “white guys who can’t get laid are killing more people now than diabetes.” He also stated what the more cynical and “alpha” of us know; they are the REAL terrorists and the REAL enemies of any social progress (but yet, people are scared of black teens wearing hoodies, while young white boys emulate “The Trenchcoat Mafia” and get a free pass or their actions blames on fake mental illnesses).

If “white guys who can’t get laid are killing more people now than diabetes.” … it’s because security forces let them.

Spare some sympathy for Asian international students that get arrested just for making jokes, while white kids intending to carry out massacres are just “exercising their right to free speech” and “blowing off steam” 🙂

One thing the left seems not liking to talk about is how fascists/Nazis are rogue leftists. The left doesn’t care about millions of dead people, especially if that serves their agenda. The only thing they really find infuriating about the Nazis is that they resisted against the Marxist utopia in such an extreme brutal way like no other political force did.

I think society will segregate any male below the 20th percentile of all men (the omegas). They would expel more but the hard expulsion of a few will make betas work harder for their alpha masters.

Problem with that thinking of “society” as a worldwide mentality, is that it’s not true.
Russia and China are among the places working to reduce the “brain drain due to manly women” by either:
      1. allowing men in relationships to practice martial arts on the girlfriend without law enforcement getting involved
      2. making sure men who made the first deposit on the house, can’t have it stolen from them in a divorce.

The exodus to those places will be fun to see, in time to come I’d like to visit (war-torn and orphanage filled) Eastern Europe and Russia. Those places I suspect, the women would appreciate not having to go a few rounds in an impromptu boxing match.

I’m not sure if you’ve heard of this article but it seems the functionally incel rates have continued to increase since 2016. This was originally posted on the washington post but since they don’t want me using an adblocker:

    https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6866649/Share-people-not-having-sex-reached-record-high.html

Do you have any predictions as to where something like this could lead? Going to the gym and working out now seems to be a requirement for getting laid with non-escort women, and even then

If the data in this graph is anything to go by, it turns out that nearly every male under 30 who’s had a dryspell longer than a year has been incel for their entire adult life…I could have guessed as much but I didn’t think the percentages would match up so well with the other chart.

The image was taken from this twitter page but wasn’t included in the Washington post article.

Women and their beta orbiters seem to be reacting to this in a pretty callous manner.

As for my personal experiences, I’m in my mid 20s and still haven’t managed to get laid though I’m going to book an escort sometime in May.

The majority of my young co-workers don’t have girlfriends but they spend a lot of time on “self improvement” schemes such as going to the gym and crypto before it crashed. This includes two of the more senior guys in their early 30s. I guess I have my own get rich quick scheme where I’m going to try to time the next stock market crash and purchase options on various overvalued tech stocks. At the very least it’s an insurance policy against losing my job.

The only two guys that have families or girlfriends are in their 40s.

Secondly, I think It’s becoming harder and harder to dismiss this phenomenon as just a few unemployed NEETs. Even with the NEETs I think a lot of them ended up that way because they knew they had no chance of getting laid even in college/uni. I saw a lot of reasonably smart guys drop out of college because they just lost motivation, and I was nearly in that category. Of course Ben Shapiro would have told those guys to just man up and get married.

Ben Shapiro would have told those guys to just man up and get married.
Sounds like Mark Driscoll and Jordan Peterson.

The kind of woman that wants to get married nowadays, doesn’t deserve to get married. Simply because the kind of guy she wants to get married to, is less capable of dealing with female lies.

Also, those women wanting to get married, are not young, virginal and debt-free.

If a woman ever screeches to you that those conditions are “something you are not entitled to”, it is a good indicator that she is not your friend. Same for men who say that.

One of the reasons relationships fail is because the other person was primed by friends e.g. “This guy is a total loser”, “This guy is a total misogynist”.

(Many) friends ignore their part in keeping guys single.

“Sounds like Mark Driscoll and Jordan Peterson.”

Haven’t heard of the Driscoll guy before but I assume he’s cut from the same cuckservative cloth.

I don’t regret not trying harder to become a better beta-provider. I would say the biggest mistake I’ve made has been not trying to get into sports before I hit high school.

I don’t know how it was 30 years ago but a lot of guys (perhaps 40+% depending on the school) did not have girlfriends in high school. The common factor is that most of them did not play sports and were late bloomers. I don’t hear the term “friendzoned” anymore, probably because guys have adapted the new normal, but girls were friendzoning these guys left and right.

I don’t regret not trying harder to become a better beta-provider. I would say the biggest mistake I’ve made has been not trying to get into sports before I hit high school.

There’s no harm in bettering yourself, just make sure that the people you choose to be around are worth it.

I don’t hear the term “friendzoned” anymore, probably because guys have adapted the new normal, but girls were friendzoning these guys left and right.

The term “friendzone” invites a torrent of hate from women – and from guys wanting to fuck said women by making fun of the friendzoned guy – which is why it is not used much. They usually say “Is all you want sex from women?” … the correct answer is “We can have sex first then talk later, you expect me to believe all these “women in love” spent hours debating global warming, the Trump-Russia collusion and net neutrality before having sex?”

This goes out to all the pretentious women who say they are “sapiosexual” … it’s not difficult to find a more intelligent man simply because most technologists are men. If intelligence was really attractive to women why do so many women complain they are lonely? The real answer is they prefer a handsome intelligent guy first … but they can’t say that since they will look shallow. And the handsome guy is in demand from many women, so he has no incentive to be loyal. Plus … women are the ones who turn attraction into a game – they criminalise male interest, then complain when only the a-holes are the ones being forward in their interactions.
