The Only Accurate Comedy Sketch on SNL Within the Past Three Years

In my opinion, SNL has always been the most unfunny and LIEbralism-friendly “comedy” program on network TV by a long shot. If you don’t believe me, have a look at any random YT clip from the Mad TV sketch show (1995-2009). Here are a few examples.. Clip # 1- Wizard of Oz Parody, Clip # 2- Sound of Music Parody, Clip # 3- Gone with the Wind Parody, Clip # 4- Lesbian Coffee house Skit, Clip # 5- Dr. Kylie talking about breast implants and Clip # 6- Cooking for One. To make a long story short, Mad Tv was, by far, the better late-night comedy sketch show. SNL in contrast, especially over part three years, has provided the most unintentionally sad commentary on the state of the LIEbral mind- if that is what you call it. Do you remember how every single show over past 2-3 years has been about Mueller arresting Trump and each new and ineffectual brainfart emanating from the LIEbral elite.

Well.. there was one exception. See.. the week after Trump was elected on Nov 8, 2016, they did put out what was probably their only insightful sketch over the past three years. Maybe this had something to do with Dave Chappelle and Chris Rock being involved with that particular episode. It is one of the most insightful crtiques of white LIEbrals living in coastal cities. Enjoy!

What do you think? Comments?

Thanks for you post. It has been a long time since I watched MadTV. They had so many great characters on that show!

You could speak here of racial segregation “within the same room.” The black man speaks but no one listens or responds. Meanwhile, because the white people look only at the TV, and only respond to it, you could speak of the integration of social atoms. The white people are literally mediated in their immediacy. The black man is thrown into an ironic situation but is up to it through superior intelligence and knowledge. Meanwhile, the white people obviously have no doubts of the superiority of their own intelligence and knowledge. I like that Chris Rock enters the room and engages the situation but also responds with human warmth and humor to the other black man, and he’s just as invisible and muted to the automaton whites as the other guy was, alone. It’d be easy to make this same skit into a Twilight Zone style nightmare, but I’m glad there are people still able to laugh.

@Yusef: I re-watched the video after reading your comment. You are right on the money. What a divide. The two groups could be in different rooms. I have observed this phenomenon all my life in the U.S. with me as part of the scenario. I become tongue tied when that happens. Then they secretly ridicule me. Be rate me. But perspectives help. Kudos to AD and Yusef for such a sociological insight.

You can only understand social isolation if you know it exists. Like that fella Mason in “Black Ops” … he never caught on until the very end that Reznov was just a figment of his imagination.
A lot of people are also scared to point out when they get excluded socially because they correctly assume that the people doing the exclusion will intensify their efforts.

You’ve hit the nail on the head with this one. And it’s no surprise that in order for SNL to finally have an intelligent skit about something relevant, they had to bring in two of the most insightful comedians living.

This might actually be SNL’s most insightful since Eddie Murphy saved the show back in the 80’s. Ironic, considering when Eddie Murphy was originally turned down because they “already had a Black guy”.

Maybe the show should just start hiring Black/Latino/Asian/Arab comedians who tell it like it is? Not “woke” per se, just those who “get it”. They’ll lose White liberals who want to live in fantasy land of Kumbaya, but they’ll gain a much more powerful show and lasting legacy.

Sidenote: Consider how the Whites are intentionally ignoring not only the only two Black guys in the room, but also each other. They are so fixated on what the TV is telling them, they aren’t actually having a conversation with each other. They’re just shouting whatever fear or wishful thinking comes to their mind.

Only Chris Rock and Dave Chappelle can see the Trump presidency as just a blip on the radar, because when you’re Black you know things can be a lot worst. This is also why they communicate with each other and “get it”.

But the Whites have no context, so they don’t get it and are literally fixated on the media to give them talking points.

Yes, those are some good comments.

If you and Hoipolloi haven’t seen it, you might want to look at George Romero’s original Night of the Living Dead, from the 1960s, which has a very similar subtext to this skit.

I hope if you are in a situation where, “then they secretly ridicule me. Be rate me” you can remind yourselves these people are zombies. They’ve lost their human hearts, minds, and souls. They are worthy of contempt (though that isn’t a good response) and they’ve got HELL to pay.

@Yusef: Your words with empathy are appreciated. I found about the duplicity of the majority late in my career. I assumed certain integrity and common sense but in the end I found that lacking in the power structure. The clannishness of the whites is obvious to whoever wants to note. I console myself with the purported comment from a great guy in the 20th century. When reporters asked a question in London: “Mr. Gandhi, What do you think of Western civilization?” Response: “That is a good idea.”

PS: My commitment to America is 100%.
