Clip from Jimmy Dore Show about the Media Coverage of ‘RussiaGate’

December 14, 2018 4 comments

I can be a little lazy about writing up posts which are not in my core areas of interest. On such occasions, it helps if somebody else writes a similar post or produces a video making a largely similar point. As some of you might remember, I have previously linked to clips from ‘The Jimmy Dore Show’. Here is one of the latest, in which he shows how corporate media talking heads have been predicting the ‘Fall of Trump’ and the ‘End of his Presidency’ for almost two years now. What makes this one especially hilarious is that even the phrasing and wording of their talking points have not changed much over past two years ago. And he is not the only one who had noticed it. Yesterday, I saw a tweet by Michael Tracey in which he made a similar observation.

FYI, Jimmy Dore is no fan of Trump and nor is Michael Tracey. Then again, they don’t have warm feelings for the establishment wing of Democratic Party either. Interestingly, both were far less certain about HRC’s chances of winning the 2016 presidential election. As I have also noted in a previous post, the establishment democrat obsession with RussiaGate fairly tales comes down to their unwillingness to accept that their anointed candidate in 2016 was rather unpopular and their neoliberal political platform has lost public support over past two decades. The same can be said about the larger political establishment, media and ‘deep state’ who see the election of that orange buffoon as a temporary aberration rather than one symptom of a much larger problem.

Anyway, have a look at the clip and marvel at the comically petulant behavior of our media ‘elite’. Don’t forget that each one of these talking heads make multiple millions per year.

Some Thoughts on the Future Career Trajectories of Trump’s Progeny

November 11, 2018 11 comments

As many of you know, establishment presstitutes.. I mean journalists.. love to spend many hours every day dissecting each stupid tweet and inane utterance made by Trump. I am also not the first to point out that covering the shitshow known as the Trump presidency has been profitable for establishment media outlets. This type of reactive pseudo-journalism has, however, led them to ignore far more important fuckups made by orange clown administration such as its continuing support for Saudi/UAE-funded genocide in Yemen, continued involvement in the 17-year old lost war in Afghanistan, long-term consequences of ongoing trade war with China etc.

Of course, focusing on real and consequential issues has never been the strength of mainstream media types who would rather cover what some manufactured “celebrity” said, did or fucked on that day. Either that or some ‘human-interest’ story about some cute animal being rescued or another useless act of charity for some physically or mentally challenged person. My point is that establishment or mainstream media is nothing more than a bunch of incompetent and incestuous sycophants who owe their current positions to being born to wealthy parents. You cannot really expect them to come up material that is not bullshit, distraction, group-think or propaganda.

Having said that, let us now turn our attention to the topic of this post which, as the title says, is educated speculation about the future career trajectories of Trump’s progeny. To make things easier, let us restrict ourselves to his five acknowledged children: Donald Jr., Ivanka, Eric, Tiffany and Barron. Yes.. I am aware of claims that Trump allegedly has a child or two other than those mentioned in the previous sentence. However, being an unacknowledged bastard child of Trump does carry even a tiny fraction of the liability of being one of those five. But why should being an acknowledged child of Trump carry any liability in the first place?

I mean.. don’t most children of ex-presidents (at least in living memory) end up leading very materially comfortable, if often rather uneventful, lives. When was the last time you heard news about the children of Eisenhower, LBJ, Nixon, Jimmy Carter or Reagan. Even those with public careers such as children of JFK, Bush43 etc are not especially hated or detested. But let us be honest about something- no president in living memory was so deeply hated and reviled by a large part of the establishment as Trump- such is curious, since he has so far behaved just like another republican president but without the so-called “polish”.

In any case, his unpopularity with the establishment is not the only reason for his progeny to be uniquely susceptible to future retaliation from the deep state. For one, adult children of previous presidents have traditionally maintained a considerable distance from the office of presidency and its powers. Secondly, their professions or vocations were seldom dependent on continued political patronage. For at least three of Trump’s children (Donald Jr., Ivanka and Eric), this is not the case because they are intimately associated in the public mind with Trump’s presidency and engaged in a line of work (real estate development) which requires continued political patronage.

Let us first quickly talk about the two (Tiffany, Baron) who have minimal public association with the toxic public image of Trump. As far as most people and the establishment is concerned, Tiffany Trump is a Trump only by virtue of him being her biological father. It is well known that she has spent minimal time with him growing up and is seen more as the daughter of Marla Maples than of Trump. Furthermore, she has little connection with her father’s businesses. She is therefore least likely to suffer any negative consequences for being one of his children. The establishment and deep state also does not see her as a threat or standard-bearer for Trump.

The next least affected progeny (Baron) is.. to put it politely.. a bit “special”. It is not exactly a secret that Baron displays many behavioral features associated with autism even though he appears to have a reasonably high level of functioning. His young age and obvious disability does however make him seem harmless and even elicit vaguely sympathy from people- even if his father is Trump and mother is basically the botoxed version of Marie Antoinette. Unless he does something rash, stupid or highly criminal in the future- he will be minimally affected by being a progeny of Trump. However unlike Tiffany, his future is still tied to his father and mother.

Eric Trump is the first of Trump’s progeny whose livelihood will almost certainly be damaged by that association. Some of you might think that all his future problems are going to be somehow connected to the Mueller investigation. I think otherwise. The Trump business model for developing real estate is somewhat different from those of most other developers. The brand is almost as (if not more) important than the actual product- even more so in overseas projects. Moreover, the type of real estate projects they are involved in require considerable local political patronage. It is fair to say that he and his siblings are not unlikely to have much local political patronage for future projects in most urban parts of USA- and other countries by 2020.

Then there is Ivanaka, or the one Trump would fuck if she was not his daughter. It is likely that her future will far bleaker than most imagine because she is the one most associated with him. While outwardly the least controversial, certain decisions made by her husband during the 2016 campaign are almost certain to haunt her. But there is more, much more. See.. in spite of her recent public efforts to distance herself from him, she is still widely seen as a close confidant of Trump. To put it another way, a lot of the anger (popular and establishment) towards Trump will negatively affect her future endeavors- especially after 2020. Also, Jared Kushner might soon serve some time behind bars, just like his father.

And this brings us to the caricature known as Donald Jr. For starters, he might also have to serve time behind bars because of the Mueller investigation. But that is only the beginning. As many of you know, his association with alt-right figures makes him unusually difficult to rehabilitate. Also, he has pissed off more people than anyone in that family other than his father. It does not help that he is seen as heir apparent to Trump’s business. Long story short- it is very likely that he will selected for special treatment, for many years to come, by the establishment class. Then again, who does not like a good ‘reality’ show.

First Thoughts on Trump’s Recently Exposed Extra-Marital Affairs

February 17, 2018 17 comments

While corporate media outlets are desperately, and unsuccessfully, trying to connect Trump with ‘Russia’ and ‘Putin’ in the public mind, they seem to have largely ignored recent disclosures about Trump’s extra-marital affairs. To be clear- I am not suggesting that harping on Trump’s extra-marital affairs, or “character”, is a winning strategy as even the most ardent boot-lickers of HRC know only too well. Analyzing Trump’s extra-martial sexscapades and their utter lack of impact on Trump’s supporters and overall ratings is however an amusing diversion from the “russian interference in our sacred elections” bullshit pumped out by corporate media every single day.

Two women have so far definitely indicated that they had affairs of various lengths with Trump after he married his current wife in 2005. One of them, an adult performer named Stormy Daniels, did initially attempt to deny a relationship with Trump. She had been apparently paid about 130,000 dollars by Trump’s lawyer to sign a NDA about her affair with his client. However, it appears that Michael Cohen broke his end of the NDA by publicly confessing to paying her. Consequently, Stormy Daniels is now shopping around for venues to broadcast her side of the story– for a nice amount of cash, I am sure.

The second woman who has confirmed that she had an affair with Trump is Karen McDougal, a former playboy nude model. To be honest, neither of these two stories about Trump’s extra-martial escapades are exactly new. Rumors about imminent public disclosure of both these (and other) stories have been floating around the internet since Trump became a front-runner during the 2016 republican presidential primary. While neither of these two women publicly came out with their stories in 2016, it is highly doubtful that such disclosure at that time would have changed the outcome of that election.

Face it.. Trump’s interest in attractive young women not currently married to him has been a fixture of pop culture for over thirty years. As long as he did not physically force them to have sex, even the disclosure that he made those women dress up to resemble his eldest daughter would not have a worthwhile negative effect on his public image. In fact, the public would be far more shocked to find out that Trump was a one-woman man than if photos and videos of him having sex with Stormy Daniels and Karen McDougal at the same time were released. So far, I have largely restated known and obvious facts about this situation. Let us now try to analyze the situation as we understand it today and try to make some predictions about where things might end up.

1] Trump’s current wife, Melania, has almost certainly known about her husband’s philandering since the very beginning of their relationship. It is fairly well understood by the public that her marriage to Trump occurred largely because he was a billionaire and she was a single model past her late-20s. She got to play a billionaire’s wife and he got a trophy wife who was decades younger than him. Many of you might have noticed that their relationship appears to be far closer to quid pro quo business interaction than anything resembling a typical marriage. Then again, it is what it is.

But, will Melania leave Donald before his first presidential term is over? Perhaps.. but not because of his philandering. The simple fact is that she is a nobody without her marriage to Trump. While she could certainly live a very comfortable existence after divorcing Trump, it would pale in comparison to the status and attention she has received since marrying him. Without him, she is just another wannabe NYC socialite with an European accent, lots of plastic surgery and a face-full of Botox.

2] One of the main idea promoted by websites and YT channels about “Game” or the “PUA” lifestyle is that male looks and style matter a lot. While I do not deny that looks do matter for men, it is clear that status, money and fame matter as much if not more than looks. An old tall obese guy with an atrocious hair weave seems to have no problems getting fairly attractive and much younger women to have sex with him. More importantly, they do not care that he is already married or not buying them unusually expensive gifts. How many men who resemble Trump but work in “middle-management” at some faceless company in your local suburban office park would get the time of day from these same women?

In other words, Trumps’s success with women is largely a consequence of him being a loud rich asshole with some talent for inserting himself into mediocre controversies. And guess what.. he is not alone in that segment. If you have been alive for more than two decades, you must have seen many examples of this strategy succeeding- albeit on a smaller scale. The simple and somewhat unpleasant fact is that possessing money, status, fame and the willingness to be brazen about them will always beat looks, dress style, devotion, kindness and all that other bullshit which many men still seem to believe in.

Will write another one about this topic based on comments and future developments.

On the Probability of Trump Completing His Term as President: 2

July 16, 2017 11 comments

In the previous post of this series, I wrote about how overt attempts by the establishment and its MSM stooges to invalidate Trump’s victory in the 2016 election by connecting him to a largely made-up “russian conspiracy” are not gaining support among the general population. Now.. this does not imply that Trump is becoming more popular. In fact, he probably has the worst levels of public support for a president in living memory. However, his low approval ratings are due to his general incompetence in combination with numerous poor policy and personnel choices, rather than most people seeing seeing him as a traitor or usurper.

When I wrote the previous, and first, post in this series we still had not heard much about the latest development in this darkly funny shit-show. As almost every single one of you must have heard many times by now, one of his son (Donald Trump Jr.) had a metting with a mediocre but semi-connected Russian lawyer and a few other people who were supposed to provide some ‘dirt’ on HRC related to some of the Clinton families dealings with a few shady rich Russians. You might have also heard that the meeting in question, which occurred in mid-summer 2016, was attended by an odd cast of characters. Anyway.. as far we know, no money changed hands and very little of what was discussed concerned HRC.

Of course, the MSM is having a field day with this most recent “scandal”. In fact, they have gone so far as to greatly exaggerate the positions, abilities and power of the Russians who attended that meeting. For example- the MSM is portraying Natalia Veselnitskaya (the Russian layer) as some sinister genius when it well-known that she was, at best, a mediocre lawyer who happened to marry a semi-powerful prosecutor in her home country. Rinat Akhmetshin (lobbyist) is being portrayed as a “soviet” counter-intelligence sleeper operative while, in reality, he was just another semi-ambitious guy who joined the soviet army in late-1980s to get out of Kazakhstan and then moved to USA after the collapse of USSR in 1991.

My point is, the people attending that meeting were not especially smart or competent. I would go even further and say that this meeting and its cast of attendees had more in common with a sub-plot in “Arrested Development” than anything which could pass for half-competent espionage and skulduggery.

Nonetheless, establishment democrats are busy promoting this alleged scandal as the “smoking gun” which will finally allow them to impeach Trump and make him resign or remove him from office. Of course, doing so would result in an outwardly normal looking religious nutcase, also known as Mike Pence, becoming the President. Then again, establishment democrats have not displayed much ability to think strategically. I mean.. they have lost almost 1,00 state legislature seats and dozens of governor races in the previous 8 years, in addition to losing the house and senate at the national level. Their only major “success” has been stopping Bernie Sanders from winning the party nomination in 2016- though that one turned out to be a really bad idea.

Having said that, let us consider the short (weeks) and medium (months) term consequences of the establishment democrat obsession with somehow connecting Trump to Putin and Russia. Firstly, they seem to forget that the american electorate has heard this same basic fairy tale for almost a year now. Guess what.. Trump won the election even after democrats started pushing this story and his approval numbers, while low, are still a bit between than their own. Note to self- write a post on how democrats were able to achieve lower approval ratings than a reality TV star who has reneged on almost all of his electoral promises.

Secondly, their obsession with this made-up scandal has prevented them from focusing on his many real failures and fuckups. You would think that democrats would focus on Trump’s failures on issues such as preventing outsourcing or maintaining funding levels for popular government programs like social security, medicare and medicaid. But no.. democarts are busy pushing “Trump-Putin”, “Trump-Russia” and “Russia Hacked Our Sacred Elections” 24/7- regardless of the lack of solid evidence to support such connections and conclusions. Establishment democrat obsession with Trump-Putin-Russia (and simultaneous neglect of issues which most voters care about) is eroding their credibility with the broader electorate at an alarming rate.

Thirdly, making the MSM incessantly push this made-up scandal is corroding whatever residual credibility those outlets used to have- even six months ago. Think about it.. average people now know that CNN and MSNBC will spend multiple hours each day talking about the newest chapter of this obviously made up scandal while simultaneously ignoring their real and very serious concerns. They know that supposedly prestigious newspapers like the NYT and WP (and pretty much every other MSM paper) will almost certainly write a dozen pieces about this obviously made-up scandal every single day. Do you think they will care if and when they publish a genuine negative story about Trump?

Will write more about the general issue of credibility loss by establishment due to their numerous unsuccessful attempts at unseating Trump in a future post of this series.

On the Probability of Trump Completing His Term as President: 1

July 11, 2017 14 comments

One of the funny, if somewhat ironic, effects of persistent attempts by establishment democrats (and their media underlings) to delegitimize Trump’s victory in 2016 election by connecting him to some cartoon-ish “russian conspiracy” is that it has not increased their own popularity among the general population. It has, if anything, made them less popular than Trump- which is a most impressive feat. Curiously, the inability of establishment democrats to improve their approval ratings has occurred in spite of Trump doing his best to screw over the very people who voted for him by making a load of generally unpopular decisions on issues such as healthcare.

More than a few commentators on twitter have been baffled by the desire of establishment democrats to flog the dead horse of “russian conspiracy” while simultaneously ignoring issues which animate average people such as healthcare, jobs, education and other concerns based in real life. In my opinion, it comes down to the sad fact that they (and other “traditional” parties in the west) have become the willing and enthusiastic tools of multinational neoliberalism. In other words, supposedly “traditional” political parties have become intellectually bankrupt cults which lack the ability to perceive the world around them thorough anything other than a neoliberal filter.

But what about the question posed in the title of this post? Will Trump complete, or be able to complete, his four-year term as the president? Or will he be impeached before his term is over? Or will something, which will render both those options moot, occur before his term is over?

As many of you know, impeccably credentialed, coiffed and dressed presstitutes employed by main-stream media outlets (and their equivalents in the entertainment sector) have been busy trying to grab onto any piece of evidence and hearsay, ok.. mostly hearsay and fabrication, that Trump is a traitor who did something “bad” which will lead to his impeachment. As you know, I am no defender of Trump and expect his presidential term to be one giant shitshow. Having said that, I think it is incorrect to say that Trump’s behavior and actions are especially unusual for somebody who has been elected as president.

USA has had more than a few presidents who had behaved worse and done far more fucked up shit. If you don’t believe me, read a bit about people like Thomas Jefferson, Andrew Jackson, Richard Milhous Nixon, Ronald Reagan, Bill Clinton and yes.. even Barack Obama. Clearly.. being a child-fucker, genocidal racist, paranoid asshole, demented moron, corrupt piece of shit and obfuscating neoliberal is no barrier to getting elected and re-elected as president. Only a true believer in the dying cult of american exceptionalism would believe in the bullshit story that Trump is somehow uniquely damaging to the dignity of the “office”.

As things stand today, there is insufficient evidence that Trump did something illegal enough to make him resign or impeach him in a manner that looks impartial. Does that mean that Trump has not done anything illegal or made poor and questionable decisions? No.. it does not. For all we know he could be getting a blowjob from by his adult daughter under the table while eating well-done steak seasoned with tomato ketchup and accepting legal contributions from the Saudi crown prince. But you see.. none of those highly questionable decisions are sufficient to impeach him in an open trial.

If there was anything sufficient to impeach him in an open trial, we would have heard it on every mainstream media outlet by now.

So, what about the other establishment democrat plan- making him resign by harping on the alleged “russia conspiracy”? Well.. we kinda already know how that will turn out. As many of you might have noticed, most people in USA have tuned out of that farce. And why wouldn’t they? Every day brings yet more unsubstantiated claims about some connection between Trump and “Putin” that will definitely sink the former’s presidency and.. it all falls apart after a few days, or sometimes, even after a few hours. Meanwhile Trump is still president and playing golf on every single weekend.

I would go so far as to say that harping on the “russia conspiracy” now makes establishment democrats look like bungling idiots or bitter losers- depending on your viewpoint. There is therefore a better than 85% probability (my educated guess) that Trump will complete his term as a president. But what about the other 15%? What else could happen?

Here is where it gets a bit dark, but not in an unexpected manner. As many of you also know, some hyper-partisan democratic voters have bought into the narrative that Trump is somehow a traitor who is sullying the office of presidency. Given the secondary effects of many of Trump’s ill-advised policies and decisions, it is not beyond the realm of possibility that there might more than a few hyper-partisan democrats who will attempt to remove Trump from the presidency. We have already seen a teaser trailer of that particular movie, in the form of the recent shooting of Steve Scalise.

I would not be surprised if in a country of over 300 million people, more than a handful come to the conclusion that Trump has to be removed from office by any means possible. And one such attempt might actually succeed. Even more problematically, a successful attempt will result in lots of covert and not-so-covert celebration by establishment democrats and their hyper-partisan supporters. The point I am trying to make is that there is no good way out of this shitshow. Indeed, letting Trump complete his term might be the least worst option- especially for democrats. Will write more in a future part of this series depending on feedback from commentators.

The Interesting Origins of Hillary Clinton’s 2016 Campaign Slogan

June 4, 2017 6 comments

A few months ago (before the 2016 american presidential election), I came across an interesting blog post which traced the origin of Hilary Clinton’s now infamous “I’m With Her” campaign slogan. The short version of the story is that it is almost the ad verbatim translation of the slogan for Paul von Hindenburg‘s 1932 campaign for the German presidency. For the record, Hindenburg won that election against Adolf Hitler. Paul Hindenburg died at age 86 in 1934 and the rest, as they say, is history.

FYI: “Mit Ihm” = “With Him” or “I Am With Him”.
